Zabbix 7.2 - What's new and what's changed?
We are pleased to announce that Zabbix 7.2 has just been released! The latest version of the software brings a range of significant improvements and changes that can positively impact the operation of users' systems.
What's new in Zabbix 7.2:
- Changes in repository structure: Packages are now better organized and easier to manage.
- Relocation of Zabbix Agent 2 plugin executable files: Files have been moved to a new location, ensuring better organization and simplifying configuration updates.
- Frontend configuration changes: New frontend file paths require updates to web server configurations, particularly for Nginx.
Changes in Zabbix 7.2 that may affect existing installations:
- Removal of Oracle database support: Support for Oracle, which had been deprecated since version 7.0, has now been fully removed.
- API changes: The auth property has been removed, necessitating updates to API authorization methods.
- New monitoring rules: If pollers are unavailable for monitoring items, these items will now be marked as "unsupported" instead of being ignored.
Zabbix 7.2 represents a step forward in enhancing the flexibility and performance of the monitoring system. As a Zabbix partner, Hawatel is committed to providing ongoing support to our clients, helping them upgrade and fully leverage the new features of this platform!
